  • Alaska Amphibious Tours (The Ketchikan Duck Tour) is looking for a Dock Representative for the upcoming season! The Ketchikan Duck Tour is a 90 minute tour — half on land and half on water.

    As a dock representative your main objectives are to be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you greet passengers and direct them to the tour loading area and to act as a liaison between the operations manager and the various ship representatives/shore excursion managers. Be as informative as you can about our tour and aide passengers with anything they may need. You will be responsible for checking in with the ship representative for updated passenger counts and making sure that all updated information reaches the general manager in a timely manner.

    Details of the position are as follows:

    Title: Dock Representative
    Pay: DOE
    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 25-40 hours per week

    JOB SUMMARY
    To greet passengers, direct them to the tour loading area and to act as a liaison between general manager and the various ship representatives/shore excursion managers.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

    • Ability to provide accurate passenger counts and maintain precise ticket counts.
    • Keep open communication with general manager and assist with the departure of the DUCK.
    • A broad knowledge of Ketchikan and area; also the State of Alaska as a whole.
    • Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.
    • Speak clearly and accurately through a microphone.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time

    We are a well established company that is looking for fun, upbeat, positive & professional staff.
    Details of the position are as follows:

    Title: Captain
    Pay: DOE
    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Full Time

    JOB SUMMARY
    Navigate DUCK boat through the city streets of Historic Ketchikan and also Tongass Narrows while conducting 90 minute tours.

    Responsibilities
    A professionally qualified, experienced tradesperson, as well as a commander of a vessel. As a captain your main objectives are to complete a vehicle inspection of the DUCK every morning before bringing it to the dock, oversee the safety of your passengers and narrator, and navigate the roads and narrows of Ketchikan during your assigned tours within the allotted time frame. Be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you interact with your passengers. Other duties include, but are not limited to, giving the safety speech at the onset of each tour, answering questions, helping passengers onto and off of the DUCK, and making sure that the DUCK is attended at all times.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
    • Complete vehicle inspection every morning and proactive maintenance every evening.
    • Safely navigate city streets and waterway of the Tongass Narrows.
    • Provide accurate passenger counts and maintain precise ticket counts.
    • Keep open radio communication with general manager and assist with departure of the Duck.
    • Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum of a 25 ton Masters license and a CDL w/Passenger Endorsement, CPR/First Aid Certification, Medical Examiner’s certificate, Marine Radio Operators Permit, & provide a copy of a current DMV Record. Must be able to assist in safety drills and vehicle inspections. Must pass a drug test before employment and at random throughout entire season.

    Alaska Amphibious Tours (The Ketchikan Duck Tour) is looking for a Sales Representative for the upcoming season! The Ketchikan Duck Tour is a 90 minute tour — half on land and half on water.

    As a sales representative, your main objectives are to promote the Ketchikan DUCK Tour, Alaska Hummer Adventures, and other tour options including flightseeing, ziplining, etc., and make tickets sales per availability. Applicants must be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you inform guests of the tour options available.

    Pay: DOE plus commissions
    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 35-40 hours per week

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be 18 years or older. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in all types of weather. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and be able to use a radio.
    Applicants must be friendly, energetic, self motivating, & able to complete tasks unsupervised. Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and holidays and able to work outside in any weather conditions.

  • Tour Guide/Performer
  • Alaska Amphibious Tours (The Ketchikan Duck Tour) is looking for a Tour Guide/Narrator/Performer for the upcoming season! The Ketchikan Duck Tour is a 90 minute tour — half on land and half on water.

    As a tour narrator your main objectives are to be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you guide your passengers through the city of Ketchikan and Tongass Narrows. Be as informative as you can about our surrounding area and to aide passengers with anything they may need. Your deckhand responsibilities are to assist with any and all emergencies including but not limited to “Man- Overboard”, First Aid and CPR. Other duties include –but are not limited to- giving the safety speech at the onset of each tour, informing passengers of the merchandise sold onboard, answering questions, helping passengers onto and off of the DUCK and aiding the captain with anything needed.

    Pay: DOE plus tips
    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 35-40 hours per week

    JOB SUMMARY
    Narrate 90 minute tour through the city of Ketchikan and also Tongass Narrows. While on the water you are filling the role of deckhand aboard a Coast Guard inspected marine vessel.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

    • Ability to provide accurate passenger counts and maintain precise ticket counts.
    • Keep open communication with general manager and assist with the departure of the DUCK.
    • A broad knowledge of Ketchikan and area; also the State of Alaska as a whole.
    • Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.
    • Speak clearly and accurately through microphone.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time with ability to balance in moving vehicle both on land and in water.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be 18 years or older & have a current CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass a drug test before employment and at random throughout entire season.
