  • Alaska Amphibious Tours (The Ketchikan Duck Tour) is looking for a Dock Representative for the upcoming season! The Ketchikan Duck Tour is a 90 minute tour — half on land and half on water.

    As a dock representative your main objectives are to be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you greet passengers and direct them to the tour loading area and to act as a liaison between the operations manager and the various ship representatives/shore excursion managers. Be as informative as you can about our tour and aide passengers with anything they may need. You will be responsible for checking in with the ship representative for updated passenger counts and making sure that all updated information reaches the general manager in a timely manner.

    Details of the position are as follows:

    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 25-40 hours per week

    JOB SUMMARY
    To greet passengers, direct them to the tour loading area and to act as a liaison between general manager and the various ship representatives/shore excursion managers.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

    • Ability to provide accurate passenger counts and maintain precise ticket counts.
    • Keep open communication with general manager and assist with the departure of the DUCK.
    • A broad knowledge of Ketchikan and area; also the State of Alaska as a whole.
    • Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.
    • Speak clearly and accurately through a microphone.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Hummer Guide/Driver
  • Title: Hummer Guide/Driver – Salesperson
    Reports to: Alaska Hummer Adventures Manager
    Pay: DOE / Commission
    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 20-40 hours per week
    Age: Must be 21 years of age or older
    Job Summary: Guiding small private groups on a 4-hour tour in a Hummer H2.

    Responsibilities: Greet Ketchikan visitors and at the same time persuade visitors of the merits of a custom type tour while describing the content and length of the tour.

    Conduct safe and a fact filled tour throughout the Ketchikan Area (Revillagigedo Island); it’s culture, landmarks, and local points of interest, historical sites and wilderness locations. As a hummer guide your main objective is to see to every possible want or need of your passengers while giving them a guided tour of Ketchikan. Guides will provide an interesting and factual tour, answer any questions the guests may have and attend to any special requests that may arise. Guides must always be informative, friendly and most of all professional. Guides must convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.

    As a hummer guide, you may be asked to sell hummer tours and that would require a customer focus and an understanding of customer needs; ability to instigate and maintain strong, productive relationships; and maintain a flexible approach and prepared to adapt and innovate with a sound cultural/local knowledge; alongside strong competitor awareness and an appreciation of the marketplace in general or a strong willingness to learn (manager willing to train the right person.)

    Job Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record/history and, preferably, have at least 5 years driving experience. Guides are subject to pre-employment drug screening and random screening through out the season.

    Non-tobacco user (any tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaporizers or any similar tobacco-related product) preferred.

    Salary: $12.50 /hour +Sales Commission

    Required experience:

    • Driving Experience: 5 years (Clean Driving Record)
    • Required license or certification: Drivers License
    • Required education:  High school or equivalent

    As a sales representative, your main objectives are to promote the Ketchikan DUCK Tour, Alaska Hummer Adventures, and other tour options including flightseeing, ziplining, etc., and make tickets sales per availability. Applicants must be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you inform guests of the tour options available.

    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 35-40 hours per week

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be 18 years or older. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in all types of weather. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and be able to use a radio.
    Applicants must be friendly, energetic, self motivating, & able to complete tasks unsupervised. Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and holidays and able to work outside in any weather conditions.

  • Tour Guide/Performer
  • Alaska Amphibious Tours (The Ketchikan Duck Tour) is looking for a Tour Guide/Narrator/Performer for the upcoming season! The Ketchikan Duck Tour is a 90 minute tour — half on land and half on water.

    As a tour narrator your main objectives are to be informative, pleasant and upbeat as you guide your passengers through the city of Ketchikan and Tongass Narrows. Be as informative as you can about our surrounding area and to aide passengers with anything they may need. Your deckhand responsibilities are to assist with any and all emergencies including but not limited to “Man- Overboard”, First Aid and CPR. Other duties include –but are not limited to- giving the safety speech at the onset of each tour, informing passengers of the merchandise sold onboard, answering questions, helping passengers onto and off of the DUCK and aiding the captain with anything needed.

    Position: Seasonal May through September
    Hours: Average 35-40 hours per week

    JOB SUMMARY
    Narrate 90 minute tour through the city of Ketchikan and also Tongass Narrows. While on the water you are filling the role of deckhand aboard a Coast Guard inspected marine vessel.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

    • Ability to provide accurate passenger counts and maintain precise ticket counts.
    • Keep open communication with general manager and assist with the departure of the DUCK.
    • A broad knowledge of Ketchikan and area; also the State of Alaska as a whole.
    • Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.
    • Speak clearly and accurately through microphone.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time with ability to balance in moving vehicle both on land and in water.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be 18 years or older & have a current CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass a drug test before employment and at random throughout entire season.
